Nido child in a classroom
The greatest sign of success for a teacher... is to be able to say, 'The children are now working as if I did not exist.'
- Maria Montessori
Discover Aspen Hill Montessori's Nido early learning program for children between 8 and 13 months old at entry!

Aspen Hill Montessori is a Provincially-licensed early education centre, offering privately-funded programs for children ages 8 months through 6 years in West Calgary for over 17 years.

Join us for immersive infant care and full-day programming, inside of First Lutheran Church at 7102 14th Ave. SW in Calgary.

A home-away-from-home for your child
to flourish.

In the Nido, patient and loving caregivers support your child with careful observation and patience throughout their day. We provide the necessary space, time, and materials as your child develops hand-eye coordination, grasping skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, language and coordination of their body through movement. Your child’s care and support is our only focus. Young learners in our Nido program find  opportunities for movement and safe exploration while spoken language skills unfold naturally in the social, nurturing environment.

Our program is limited to 9 children per day to ensure the maximum attention is devoted to our young learners.

A calm
and peaceful
space.

Children explore the beautiful, neutrally-toned classroom spaces, working through physical literacy learning, language growth, sensorial experiences, and developing gross and fine motor skills. One-on-one teacher and student interaction, and a quiet, calm environment contribute to a wholistic and peaceful approach to education. Our outdoor spaces allow for plenty of texture connection in all seasons!

Why
early
care?

Aspen Hill Montessori offers a program built on a child's natural sense of wonder. Our infant classes nurture independence, curiosity, imagination, a love of learning, independence, creative thinking, kindness and the joy of life in each child. Children are valued and are free to learn independently at their own pace.

Children who have the chance to grow independently as learners early in life are shown to develop better resiliency, social skills, and internal motivation to learn. An early transition into bonding with other adult caregivers can be an amazing gift to give your child.
